Having dedicated two decades to the vibrant Canadian music community, she recently earned her Master's Degree in Music from the University of Calgary, specializing in Music Education. Her commitment to nurturing the musical talents of her students is apparent, with a particular emphasis on teaching piano to children with autism, firmly believing in the profound impact of music on both students and their families.

Having successfully completed the Royal Conservatory of America (RCA) teacher training, Ocean's teaching philosophy is firmly rooted in the principles of excellence upheld by one of the world's most prestigious music institutions. Her training under the esteemed Joseph Fridman has further enhanced her pedagogical expertise and deepened her understanding of the nuances of music instruction.

Notable Music Academy Calgary springs from the vision of Carol Cowie, a devoted music educator deeply committed to fostering the growth of both students and teachers as we embark on our quest to create an outstanding music studio experience. Originating from Northern Ireland, Carol's passion for music ignited at the young age of 4, under the guidance of esteemed mentors Ruth White and Elizabeth McCausland.
At 18, she ventured to Dublin, where her musical journey truly began at the College of Music, Dublin.
In Dublin, Carol immersed herself in the realm of piano performance and pedagogy, emerging as a top graduate of her class and proudly receiving the Frank O'Reilly Cup for Perpetual Excellence. As a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music, London, and with a Graduate Diploma in Music Teaching from the College of Music, Dublin, Carol stands as a paragon of musical proficiency and instructional prowess.
However, her musical talents extend beyond the piano. With almost three decades of teaching experience, Carol is equally accomplished as a clarinetist and piano accompanist. Her multifaceted musical expertise enhances the learning experiences of all who encounter her.
